Itinerary
Day 01--Cochin to Munnar (130 Kms/4 Hrs drive)
Today Morning Pickup from Cochin Airport/Ernakulam Railway station and thereafter drive to Munnar, a hill station(130 Kms/4 Hrs drive), located 1600 meters above sea level. Once the summer resort of the erstwhile British administration in South India it still retains its colonial charm and is famous for its tea plantations, most of which are privately owned. With its sprawling estates, rolling hills, sparkling waterfalls, picture postcard hamlets and undulating valleys, Munnar is an ideal holiday destination. En route visiting Cheyyapara & Valara waterfalls .
Check into your hotel and unwind. Rest of the day at leisure to enjoy the ambience of Munnar. Overnight at Munnar
Day 02-Munnar
Morning after breakfast at 9 AM you can go for sightseeing at Munnar which includes Tea Gardens,Tea Museum (will be closed on Mondays),Blossom Garden, Eco point, Mattupetty dam; you can also enjoy boating in the Lake (optional). Overnight at Munnar
Day 03- Thekkady (110 Kms/3.5 Hrs drive)
Morning after breakfast at 9 AM drive to Thekkady(110 Kms/3.5 Hrs drive), an area known for its undulating hills, spice plantations, and elephant sightings. One of the 27 wildlife reserves in India, the Periyar valley in Thekkady is the oldest. Check into your hotel.Afternoon you can go for a boat cruise in the Lake to watch wild animals is an option (Inside the sanctuary). Pls make the prior reservation for boating through KTDC Website (preferable timing 3.30 pm). You can also explore the activities like Spice Plantation tour ,Jeep Safari & Elephant ride ..Stay overnight at Thekkady.
Day 04-Alleppey(140 Kms/4 Hrs drive)
Today morning after breakfast 04.00 hrs drive to the backwater place, you can see panoramic backwater stretches, and lush paddy fields. On arrival check into the beautiful backwater Resort and the rest of the day is free to relax at the Resort. Stay overnight in the Alleppey
Day 05-Cochin (80 Kms/2.5 Hrs drive)
Today morning after breakfast, proceed to Cochin and transfer you to the hotel. Here you can go for Cochin local sightseeing tour, here you can see the St Francis Church, the oldest Church in India, 500-year-old Portuguese Houses, Chinese fishing nets, 16th-century Synagogue, Jew Town, and Mattancherry Palace, built by Portuguese, this Palace contains some of India’s most beautiful murals, etc. An evening enjoying One-hour Kayaking tours through the serene backwaters of Cochin. Stay overnight at Cochin. (NB – Jewish synagogue, Mattancherry Palace, etc are closed on all Fridays & Saturdays)
